Grace > My Circumstances (Part 2)

Grace > My Circumstances (Part 1)

Most of us can comprehend that grace is greater than our sin, we understand that is a core part of the Gospel.  We may even be able to grasp that grace is greater than our hurts; and that we need to learn to extend grace to those who have hurt us, because of the great grace extended to us.  But what about the daily grind?  What about when life is hard, and we need something to strengthen us to move forward during tough times?  The great news is, grace is greater than our circumstances as well…our disappointments, our weaknesses, even our despair.

Grace > My Hurts #2

Do you struggle with “letting go” of past hurts and extending true grace and forgiveness to those who have caused them?  Forgiveness is not the natural response of the human spirit; but it is a necessary step for those who have received grace and wish to walk in it daily.  In this session, we wrap up the examination of how grace is greater than our hurts; even the deepest ones.

Grace > My Hurts

This week, we flip the coin, from our emphasis on our RECEIVING grace, to our EXTENDING grace to others; even those that have caused hurt and pain to us.  It makes grace a lot “messier”, but it is something that we are expected to do.

Grace > My Shame & Regrets

Have you ever done anything you were ashamed of…or later regretted?  Who of us hasn’t!  The good news is, God’s grace is greater than your shame and your regrets.  We’ll look at two examples from Scripture that bear this out for us.  Give a listen…good news awaits!

We begin a new series this week, examining one of the core doctrines of our faith.  Much more than a doctrinal study though, grace cannot be “explained” as much as it must be “experienced”.  Join us as we take a fresh drink from the fountain of grace, and how grace is greater than our sins, our secrets and our shame.

The Prayers of Jonah

The Book of Jonah records four distinct prayers, and each one probably has a point of connection to prayers we pray as well.  Gifted Bible teacher Ruthi Neely served as our “guest teacher” for this week’s session and shares insights from this fascinating book from the Old Testament.

The Treasure Principle-Session #6

The final session in this series looks at the issue of our standard of LIVING versus our standard of GIVING.  We all tend to be super-conscious of the former; but as a follower of Christ, probably need to give more attention to the latter.

The Treasure Principle-Session #5

We all struggle with the malady of materialism…but there is a cure!  We’ll take a look at the antidote for materialism this week, and how God has given us a biblical principle to live by to help us develop it in our lives.  It may sound “Old Testament” at first, but we think you’ll gain a fresh understanding of why God has given this instruction to us.

Treasure Principle Week #3 with Michael Latzkas

Guest Speaker Michael Latzkas covers the third corollary in The Treasure Principle. A powerful reminder  that this world is not our home and the wise thing to do is to make sure that our investments, our time, our talents and our treasure reflect that truth.

Treasure Principle Week #4

In this week’s session, we take a look at what an “eternal investment strategy” should look like.  Like any investment planning, you should have a variety of “funds” you are storing up treasure in now…for later.  Check out the five “funds” that God wants you to utilize, based on the five purposes we were each created for.

PRESSURE POINTS (A Study in the Book of James)-Session #11

Of all the things that are hard to learn (and appreciate), PATIENCE ranks at or near the top for most of us.  How are we supposed to view “the waiting times”, and more importantly, what are we to do during such times?  James 5:7-12 has life-applicable advice for us when we find ourselves waiting on God.

GOLIATH MUST FALL #8  SELF MUST FALL

GOLIATH MUST FALL #7 ADDICTION MUST FALL

GOLIATH MUST FALL #6 ANGER MUST FALL

GOLIATH MUST FALL #5-COMFORT MUST FALL

It may be the most insidious “giant” of all, and one of the most common as well.  It is so easy for us to “get used to it” and just settle in to a place of comfort or complacency, even if it means we’re allowing a giant to hold us there and keep us from experiencing and doing all that God has designed for us and called us to do.

GOLIATH MUST FALL #4-REJECTION MUST FALL

Rejection comes in many facets and ways into our lives, and literally taunts and challenges every single person.  David was no exception, but he stepped on to the battlefield that day from a “position of acceptance”…not rejection.  This week we examine the foundation truths that helped young David deal with the giant of rejection.

GOLIATH MUST FALL #3-FEAR MUST FALL

The first giant we meet in this epic tale in 1 Samuel 17 is Goliath; but the second one is the giant of FEAR.  Whether you label it as fear, worry, anxiety, stress or terror; we all tend to struggle with this giant.  But like David over Goliath, through the power of Christ’s work…this giant must fall as well!
